How We Test

We independently test AI tools using the same real-world tasks and scoring criteria. Our goal is simple: help you understand what each tool does well, where it falls short, and whether it is worth your time and money.

What We Test

Every AI tool is tested across the same core scenarios whenever the tool supports them.

  1. Blog Writing — Long-form article generation, structure, readability and usefulness.
  2. Social Media — Social posts, captions, hooks and short-form marketing copy.
  3. Business Email — Professional emails, rewriting and tone adjustment.
  4. Product Description — Clear, persuasive and accurate product copy.
  5. SEO Outline — Search-focused article structures, headings and topic coverage.

How We Score AI Tools

Each tool is scored from 1 to 5 across six standardized criteria.

MetricWhat We EvaluateScore
QualityOverall quality of the generated result/5
AccuracyCorrectness and reliability of the output/5
UsabilityHow easy the tool is to learn and use/5
SpeedGeneration speed and workflow efficiency/5
CustomizationControl over tone, format and output/5
ValueWhether the features justify the price/5

Overall Score

The Overall Score is calculated using the average of the six category scores and is presented on a 5-point scale.

Example: 4.3 / 5

Our Testing Process

  1. Choose a real-world task
    • We define a realistic task that represents how people actually use the tool.
  2. Use standardized prompts
    • Comparable tools receive the same or equivalent prompts whenever possible.
  3. Run multiple tests
    • We avoid judging a tool based on only one generated result.
  4. Evaluate the output
    • Results are reviewed using our six scoring criteria.
  5. Compare competitors
    • When appropriate, we compare the results against similar AI tools.
  6. Update our findings
    • Scores and conclusions may be updated when tools significantly change.

What We Don’t Do

We do not give a tool a high score simply because it has more features. A feature only matters if it is useful, reliable and performs well in real-world use.

Sponsored relationships do not determine our test scores or conclusions. If an article contains affiliate links or sponsored content, we disclose it clearly.

Why Our Testing Method Matters

AI tools often make similar promises, but their actual performance can be very different. By testing tools under consistent conditions, we aim to make comparisons easier and help readers choose the right tool for their needs.

Our methodology will continue to evolve as we test more tools, collect more data and identify better ways to measure real-world performance.
